Keep the Brown Rice and Raisins coming

Good news!

Last night I picked up 29 packs of Brown Rice and 25 packs of Raisins for Family Table.

This means we only need 15 more packs of raisins and 41 more packs of brown rice to meet our commitment for June. We have until June 12 to collect it. That should be plenty of time to reach our goal.

The collection bin is conveniently located near the lower level entrance of the building. Donations may also be left in the office.

Also:
Sunday, July 17 is the next date for Temple Emanuel to send volunteers to pack and deliver food. For everyone that is busy with religious school and other commitments on Sunday mornings during the school year, this date is for you. It takes about two and a half hours - finish by 1:00 pm. See how efficient Family Table is at providing food for those in need in greater Boston. Please email me for more info or to sign up.

Every bit helps.

Project Manna Concert

Tonight is the 22nd Annual Project Manna concert. It is a community wide event and will be held at Temple Emanuel in Newton at 7:30 PM. It is a remarkable partnership between local organizations to raise money for the Massachusetts Avenue Baptist Church Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen. This is their major fundraiser for the year. The good news is that they manage to make the donations stretch; they feed many people with the resources they have working out of a small kitchen. The bonus is that when one supports Project Manna, he also hears a great concert. I am looking forward to it.
